Fay grinned as she listened to everyone taking a wild guess about what was the last secret ingredient of her muffins. The Christmas log looked delicious! She’d certainly have a piece of that once the muffins would be eaten. She laughed lightly as they came out with the craziest ingredients and smirked. “I you guys are giving me great ideas for my next recipes.” She joked; of course, she wasn’t that crazy with the food she mixed together. She just liked making strange muffins, with flavours that people wouldn’t expect.
Her smile grew wider as Miss Weasley found the answer and she grinned nodding. “See? Good cooks, always know their ingredients.” She mused giggling before grinning at Fred who complimented her on her muffins. “Thank you.” She added before once Fred was done getting himself a slice of log, she did the same.
“I am happy to have new testers; my dad was the only one willing to do it.” She said with a small laugh.

Fred was glad that Fay had the same sense of humour he did, otherwise she might have been offended by all the crazy things they said about her muffins and what was in it. She even said they gave her ideas. He hoped snot would never be part of any of her recipes. For most of the rest, he wouldn’t mind. He thanked himself for inviting her. The mood lifted with her around, something that might not have happened otherwise, considering they were all mourning. It was the first Christmas without Potter around. He bet Harry wouldn’t have liked it any other way.
Molly blushed, he noticed it, as Fay said she was a good cook. His mother was always sensitive to flattery. Unless you were named Fred or George Weasley, then whatever you can come with would only make her wonder what you had done.
When she said she was glad to have found new testers, the teasing continued. “Looks like our Fred here found himself a little cook. You better watch out bro or you’ll end up fat!” he heard one of his sibling said though wasn’t entirely sure which one. He just laughed. “The best way to win a Weasley is through his belly, everyone should know it.” Fred replied on the same tone.

Fay chuckled hearing one of Fred’s brother’s comment and grinned. “I’ll make him run laps if he gets fat.” She replied jokingly, though she doubted it’d ever happen but the image was rather funny in her head. She took a bite of her Christmas log and smirked at Fred’s reply, well then, she was pleased to hear that they all liked to eat! She was to make sure to bring them more food next times!
“That’s wonderful then!” She exclaimed with a grin. “That only means you might give me ideas for future recipes” she added with a small laugh. She was happy that the family seemed to have adopted her. They were a nice bunch, perhaps she’d write a song for them some days she thought, her smile always remaining there.
“By the way, I have a few new songs they’re rough pieces for now but I can’t wait for you to hear these!” she said remembering the fact, perhaps they’d like to hear a few later in the evening.

Fred faked being offended when she said she’d make him run laps. He had a comment or two to say about this, but certainly not in presence of his family, especially his mother. There was a limit just how far he could go. The rest of the meal went just as well. Fay’s presence lit up the room. It was so good to be able to laugh like this as if nothing bad happened to any of them. What could have been a gloomy evening turned into a jolly night.
When she said she composed some songs, Molly was surprised. She did not see the guitar, it went to the living too fast for her to notice when she arrived. So Fred explained. He could see that his mother feared her type of music was quite different than Fay’s but she still smiled and said she’d love to hear it.
Molly stood up and let everyone go to the living as she brought over some eggnog for everyone. She told them she left the desserts on the table if anyone would like another part later in the evening. “How about a song or two before we open the gifts?” Fred asked. He thought one or two songs would be enough for his mother who’d later turn on the radio, most probably. But they could hear Fay play. Ginny and Ron commented how she played before the vacations in the Great Hall, how Umbridge was so shocked by it while everyone else simply adored it. “I hope your song will be a bit more festive and less rock?” Fred whispered to Fay as he approached of her with her glass of eggnog along with his. He didn’t want the others to hear and just wanted to make sure his mother was not to die of an heart attack tonight.

Fay grinned, as she got surprised looks as she mentioned her songs. She liked to have other people to hear these, her compositions or any random song she could come out with. She probably spent more time writing her songs for her band than she did to study. The thought made her smile still as she laughed lightly nodding before studying Miss Weasley’s expression. Ah, perhaps she didn’t have the same tastes of music she had, not that she minded, she just thought it’d be even funnier to show the woman her skills.
She soon was done eating and smiled at Fred nodding at his question. “Of course, I’m up for it anytime.” She stood up, leaving the kitchen along with Fred before smirking at him at his whispered question. Something softer eh? She had one in mind. “Watch me go.” She said playfully before grabbing her glass and took a sip. “I might have something in hands you’d like to hear.” She finished with a grin placing the glass on a near table she stood up to grab her guitar plugging it to make it a that louder, but not too much knowing what Fred’s mother feared.
She chuckled. “I want you to want.” She said with a grin at her choice of songs. This wasn’t the kind of music she was used to write but it happened to be one of the random moments she’d have in her life doing it. Her smile never left her lips as she began playing the notes and started singing.

When she told them the name of the song, Fred was pushed by everyone, poked in the flanks in a teasing way. They obviously had something to say about the choice of the song. He grinned to her, in his head thinking that song was meant for him and not anyone else. Maybe she didn’t write it, maybe she did a long time ago, but he could not believe it, or barely. And even if that was the case, he was the one she was singing it to. And everyone seemed to think so.
He knew it had a rhythm rather fast but it was a smooth, nice song in the same time. No swearing, no comment about death, sex or a fight. It was almost a cute song by its lyrics. It probably was why Molly, smiled all along the song. No one dared sing the chorus with her even if it came many times and was relatively easy, mostly because their voice would sound weird and ridiculous next to hers. They were not exactly singers.
At the end of the song, everyone clapped in their hands, Fred and George even going so far as to ‘woot’ her. “Any song that Fred isn’t involved in?” Bill asked with a teasing smile, pushing his little brother nicely while everyone laughed.

Fay grinned once the song was over, glad that it had made Fred’s mother smile. He had warned her after all; his mother and her didn’t have the same tastes in music. She didn’t mind it. Singing a few happy songs made her happy as well. She knew that most of the time, subjects of rock songs went along Alcohol, death, fights and anything else in between. She liked making rock songs, but her subjects were different. They were more free styled and happier than what you were used to hear.
Bill’s question made her laugh lightly, amused by his comments. She bowed lightly and soon raised herself up, wondering about what kind of song she could throw them and soon found one. “Of course, I have many in store.” She said. “Almost like a karaoke.” She added soon realizing that they might not know what it was considering they were pureblood wizards. Ah well, maybe they had that too, she wouldn’t mind explaining that to them.
“It’s called the middle; wrote that last year.” She explained to them, her smile never leaving her lips as she concentrated back onto her guitar. The melody wasn’t slow as well, but she thought that Fred’s mother would like it.
