George rolled over in his bed for what seemed liked the hundreth time that night. He looked over at his clock and saw a long five minutes had passed since he last look. Rolling over once more he stared up at the blank ceiling. He was just about ready to bang his head against the wall in frustation. There was nothing worse than being tired and not being able to go to sleep. He pulled the covers off and sat up on the side of the bed. Running a hand through his hair he stood up, swaying slightly.
Once he had steadied himself he stretched and a yawn escaped his lips. He stifled it with the back of his hand then walked out of the boys dorm. After descending the stairs he wound up in the common room. It was cold and empty with anyone else and no fire. George walked over to the fireplace and took a few moments to start it. When the sound of the wood crackled and he could fel the heat he went to one of the couches. He sat down and laid his head on the arm of the couch.
George wasn't sure why he couldn't go to sleep but he was glad it was Friday night and he wouldn't be tired for class. He knew there were a lot of students who had had trouble sleeping lately. Everything had been difficult since Harry was killed and no one seemed at ease anymore. George hadn't been thinking about that when he went to sleep but even when he didn't think about it it plagued him. He had been close with Harry and worse was Ronald.
George had never seen Ron like he was now, so distance, so blank, it was like he was running on auto-pilot. No matter how much the Weasley's tried to comfort him, there was no comfort strong enough to help. George heaved a great sigh and felt that familar pang in his chest. Sadness for him, for Ron, for everyone who had lost Harry. He couldn't stand to dwell on these thoughts much longer and tried to turn his attention to the fire. The flames had gotten bigger and the soothing sound of the wood popping helped to calm him.
Yet he still couldn't feel like he could fall asleep, frustrated once again he sat up on the couch. He stretched his legs out across the cushions and leaned back against the arm. Trying his best to think happy thoughts and only happy thoughts, he was tired of feeling dread all the time.

Angelina laid in her bed, the soft mumblings of the other girls surrounding her. She had counted the folds and unraveled strings in the canopy over her bed so many times, she could find all of them within a few seconds. She couldn't bring herself to fall asleep, even though she was quite tired. Her mind ran heavily with thoughts, thoughts about what happened at the end of last year, along with thoughts about everything else, ranging from Quidditch to school, then to her friends. She couldn't take it anymore.
Standing up, Angelina grabbed her robe from the chair next to her bed, and swung it around her, tying the slash in front. She walked out of her room quietly, making sure the door didn't squeak or slam like it had a tendency to do. She crept down the stairs silently, avoiding the parts that squeaked. When she entered the common room, Angelina was surprised to actually find someone in there, enjoying the warmth of the fire like she had been planning to do.
All she could make out, was a tall build and messy hair. She shuffled her feet slightly to get herself to move again, and walked over, recognizing the figure as George as she moved closer. "What are you doing up at this hour?" she asked quickly, sitting down on the arm rest opposite of the one he was leaning against. She knew other students were restless lately, what with what was going on lately. You could see it in their eyes, that scared, curious look. Sometimes, it would seem as if they were expecting something to jump out at them from a doorway or around a corner.
Stifling a yawn with her hand, Angelina leaned back against the couch, shifting herself so she wouldn't fall off in the process. She forced herself back from those thoughts, the thoughts that had plagued her enough for her to come down here in the first place, and shifted her eyes over to George, smiling faintly at him.

George had been lost in thought as he sat back on the couch. He never heard the sound of anyone approaching until he heard a voice. It startled him slightly as he hadn't been expecting anyone else to join him. He turned and saw Angelina sit on the arm of the chair and smiled at her. With all that was going on in school he hadn't had much time to speak with her. Or much less anyone else besides his family.
"I couldn't sleep," George answered, looking up to meet Angelina's gaze. "I keep thinking about everything that's happened and I can't seem to get any sleep." George figured there was no point in lying. Everyone knew everyone was feeling the same. It wouldn't make him look weak to admit he was bothered by all the events that had happened. Anyone that denied they were was lying.
"What about you?" George asked. "Why are you up?" He noticed Angelina had gotten dressed in a robe and he should have done the same. Even with the fire going it was still colder than usual in the common room. He was sure it was just his imagination thinking it was from the emptiness but he felt goosebumps on his arms every few minutes. George rubbed at his arms trying to warm them as he looked back up at Angelina. Waiting for her to answer his question.
He wouldn't be surprised if she was feeling like him, restless. Even in his dorm he could hear his roommates moving around in thier sleep more than they used to. But they never talked about why, it was not something guys did. Feeling weren't really a topic for any of them, that was something better spent talking to a girl about.

Angelina glanced over at him as he explained why he was done here in the common room. She nodded and stood up from the arm rest. Walking over to the chair near the couch, Angelina sat down, curling her legs up and underneath her. She rested her head on the arm rest, and glanced over at him once more, wrapping her arms around herself.
Even with her robe on, Angelina was still slightly cold. She could feel the warmth of the fire, but it wasn't doing as much good as she hoped it would have. It seemed that almost anything that was suppose to keep you warm around here lately only made you feel more cold and alone.
Sighing gently, Angelina looked back over at George and smiled at him. "Pretty much the same thing." she answered, yawning once more. She was too tired to even think about covering her mouth that time. Closing her eyes for a few minutes, Angelina thought about how restless even some of her roommates were. Sure they were able to sleep, but she could hear them murmuring in their sleep, calling out various names that they shouldn't be calling out, well not lately anyways.
Keeping her eyes closed, Angelina shifted her head so her face was towards George. "How's Fred doing?" she asked slowly, remembering how she hadn't gotten a chance to speak to either of them over the summer what with what happened, and her parents taking her out of town for most of the summer. "I didn't get to speak to either of you as much as I would have liked over the summer."

"I'm glad I'm not the only one," George answered, sighing. He had been restless many nights but tonight was the first time he had come down to the common room. The other nights he had forced himself to stay in bed and watch the hours tick by. He didn't get much sleep those nights and found the day difficult to get through.
Fred watched Angelina sit on one of the armchairs. He turned on the couch and stretched his legs out to rest on the coffee table instead. It was easier to see Angelina and talk to her from this position.
"He's the same as me," answered George, shrugging his shoulders. "I think he might be sleeping better though, he was snoring when I left the common room." A brief smiled passed across George's face. "We're all worried about Ron, me and Fred try to cheer him up but nothing seems to work." George ran his hand through his hair pulling it back from his eyes.
"With everything that's been going on there's a lot of people I haven't gotten to talk to," George said, missing the time he usually spent with his friends over the summer. "How have you been? Despite everything did you have a good summer?"

Angelina smiled briefly at him, thinking about how Alicia and Katie were acting lately. Although the three of them hardly knew Harry, they still played Quidditch together, and spent some time together. Angelina could even remember the letter she gotten a few days ago from their old Captain.
"Yeah, it's quite sad really. I got a letter before school started from Oliver. He was devastated by the news. Rambled on and on about how great Harry was, and how sad he was that he was gone now. Broke my heart to think about how he might be taking the news. He practically taught Harry everything he knows." said Angelina, sighing softly. She glanced over at the clock on the wall, yawning at the time.
Returning her gaze back to George, Angelina sighed gently, wishing she could go and sleep now. "I'm glad Fred is okay though, I mean I missed both of you guys over the summer. I got to see the girls a couple of times, but as far as friends went, that was about it." she stated, turning her gaze to the fire. She watched as the flames flickered, allowing no warmth to fill her body.
Shivering slightly, Angelina looked back over at him. "I think as time goes by, however, we will adjust to the fact that he's gone. It's just going to take some time that's all." she said, noticing her voice crack slightly halfway through what she had been saying.

"Poor Oliver," George said, frowning. "I haven't heard from him in ages but I can understand his grief. If it wasn't for Oliver Harry would have never gotten such a good chance in Quidditch." George sighed heavily and rested his head in his hands. He was tired and yet wide awake at the same time. Mabye just a bit longer and he'd finally be able to go to sleep.
"I missed you too, usually we have a game or two of Quidditch with you," George said, trying to lighten the mood. All this doom and gloom talk was really making him feel worst. He remembered the few times all his friends, including Angelina, had gotten together to play Quidditch. She was really good and when she was on the team opposite him he was always worried they'd win.
"I know someday it will all be easier," George said. "It just takes a long time to get there." George looked up at Angelina when he noticed her voice had cracked. He set his feet down and leaned forward to pat Angelina's hand comfortingly. George hated to see someone he cared about sad. "It will be okay, Ang."

Angelina looked at him as he patted her arm. She smiled at him slightly, and stood up. She moved over to the couch, and sat down next to him. She crossed her legs, and moved her robe around her body so she wouldn't be uncomfortable. She rested her head against his shoulder, yawning slightly.
"You know what?" she started, turning her head so she was looking up at him. "I'm so tired, that I wouldn't be surprised if I fell asleep right here, it's crazy." she said with a soft laugh, closing her eyes. She was comfortable where she was, however, she would like to put her feet up on the couch, she just wasn't sure if that was a good thing to do or not.
She couldn't almost feel herself starting to fall asleep. Her eyes were growing heavy, and her yawns were coming more close together. She was comfortable, no one could blame her for that, and she could just feel herself starting to drop into dreamland. She wasn't really focusing on everything around her, after all, it wasn't like someone would come down there and start shouting at them for being in there at that hour.

George watched Angelina get up and walk over to the couch. She sat down next to him and laid her head on his shoulder. He wrapped his around her and her being there seemed to help him relax quite a bit. Once again he rested his feet on the coffee table. It was much more comfortable then having them hang off the side of the couch.
"I've been tired all night," George said, yawning widely. "I feel a bit better now though. Not as restless." He couldn’t remember the last time he had been just tired and not restless. It had been a really long time.
He turned to Angelina and saw she had closed her eyes and her breathing had slowed. She wasn’t asleep yet but she looked like she could fall asleep at any moment. George noticed she looked a bit uncomfortable how she was laying. He used his free hand to pick her legs up and laid them across his, she barely made any notion that she noticed. George leaned back against the couch and closed his eyes suddenly more tired than earlier.
He closed his eyes and felt about ready to fall asleep, he wasn’t worried about anyone seeing him. There wasn’t any rules against being the common room at night. He felt himself drifting off to sleep and gladly welcomed it. It had been a long time since he had been able to fall asleep without moving around a hundred times throughout the night.

Angelina could briefly feel him move her legs so they were on his lap. She smiled lightly, yawning slightly as she did. She was just too tired, btu at least laying here was making it easier. Of course, actually laying down might have been better. She wasn't sure.
Opening her eyes, Angelina looked up at George. "Since we're both so tired, how about we sleep here on the couch together, you know actually laying down on the couch." she stated, yawning slightly again. She wasn't sure if he would lay with her or not, but she didn't really care. She was exhausted, and she really wanted to just sleep some.
Turning her head, Angelina glanced over at the clock. It really was getting late. If either of them were going to fall asleep well then it would be good if they fell asleep now. If they didn't, well, then they would be quite exhausted while they were in class, and that wouldn't be such a good thing. "Or I could just go back up to my dorm." she said, starting to move her legs off of his lap.

George was half asleep when he felt Angelina move and began talking to him. He opened his eyes and turned to her. She began to stand up and the last words she said finally processed. George was much too tired now to bother scaling the stairs. If Angelina didn't want to stay down here he still did. He looked up at and grabbed her hand.
"I'm too tired to bother scaling those stairs," George said, another yawn escaping his lips. "If you want to lay here next to me I don't mind at all." George laid down across the couch and scooted all the way to the back of the cushion. There was enough room for Angelina to lay down if she wanted to. He wanted her to stay more than he wanted her to leave.
Growing up in a big family is was rare George ever had a bed to himself. He began to grow accustomed to having another body by him. That was probably why he was able to feel more comfortable when Angelina was laying next to him. It made him feel like he was back home in his warm bed.
"But if you want to go up to your dorm you can, I don't want to make you stay if you don't want to," George said, still looking at Angelina. He stayed to the side of the couch waiting for her to make her decision.

Angelina moved off the couch as she watched him lay down, moving towards the back of the couch so she could lay next to him. She smiled lightly, and took off her robe, finding it too stuffy to lay on the couch in. She laid down next to him, staying on her side so she was facing the fireplace.
Closing her eyes again, Angelina shivered slightly once more. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to have taken off her robe like she had done. Now she was cold, and it seemed as if the fire wasn't really helping anymore. Because of that, Angelina scooted back closer to George, and grabbed one of his arms.
Wrapping his arm around her waist, Angelina closed her eyes once more, feeling slightly more warm than she was before. Of course, she wasn't going to feel completely warm or anything, but if they had a blanket or something over them, then maybe she wouldn't be so cold anymore. She wasn't sure though as another shiver ran down her spine, making her groan lightly as she tried to move closer to George.

George watched Angelina slip off her robe and lay down next to him on the couch. She shivered slightly and took his arm to wrap around her. The fire was smaller now than it had been when he started it. It made the room feel colder and less comfortable. Angelina shivered again and George spotted her robe on the ground.
Using the arm wrapped around Angelina he leaned over and picked up her robe. He spread it out and laid it over the both of them. With it over their feet it reached to about their waist. After a few moments their body heat warmed the inside of robe and made it much more comfortable. George laid his head against the arm of the couch and closed his eyes.
He had his arm around Angelina again an laid against her slightly. Once again he yawned and tried to stifle it slightly. He then closed his eyes and felt himself beginning to drift off to sleep.

Angelina yawned tiredly as she felt him lay the robe on top of them. A light smile appeared on her face, but since he was laying behind her, there was no way he would know. She closed her eyes more tightly, starting to drift off to sleep once more. She wasn't sure why, but the safety she was feeling from being so close to George was really helping her start to fall asleep easier. She wish she knew why, maybe then she could figure out how to get that safety more often.
The next morning, Angelina awoke to the soft murmurs of the other students. She slowly aroused herself out of her sleep, feeling her arms wrapped around something rather hard. She opened her eyes slowly, and found herself looking at George's chest. She lifted her head slightly, and looked up at his face, noticing he was still asleep.
Hearing the murmurs once more, Angelina lifted herself slightly off of the couch, looking up at the students of their house that were surrounding them. Some were making weird faces, while others were trying to control their laughter. She turned her head once more, and noticed both Katie and Alicia smiling at her, both of their faces red from laughing it would seem. Sighing lightly, Angelina laid back down and hid her face against George's chest, almost wishing she could disappear right then. That's how embarrassed she was.

George couldn't remember exactly when he had fallen asleep. One minute he had closed his eyes and the next he was out. He had had dreams but he couldn't remember what they had been about. They must have been nice though as he remembered them being nice. He felt himself slowly waking up and really didn't want to.
There was shifting next to him and he suddenly remembered Angelina had been laying next to him. It felt different though then they had been laying last night. George finally allowed himself to open his eyes and the first thing he noticed was Angelina. She was turned around so she was laying where she was facing him.
The next thing he noticed were the students crowding around the couch. They were murmuring to each other and he even heard some of them giggling. George chuckled and made a big thing out of stretching. "Morning," he said cheerily to the other students. When he looked down at Angelina he saw she seemed embarassed.
He could tell she was awake but was hiding her face in his chest. "Was there something you guys needed?" George asked the students, they then all began to disperse and pretend they had never been staring. When everyone was off doing their own things George turned back to Angelina. "How'd you sleep?" he asked her.
